MUGELLO, PREVIEW: BELLAROSA TRYING TO PULL AWAY IN CLASSIFICATION
21/07/2010 - The Italian Prototypes Championship will be back on track at Mugello this weekend for the sixth round of the season.

Ivan Bellarosa is well determined to confirm his leadership in the absolute classification after the overtaking on Davide Uboldi (Uboldi Corse) in the latest round at Adria. The driver from Brescia, behind the wheel of the Wolf GB08-Honda, is firmly at the lead of the CN2 classification as well, thanks to five victories on five races, and the chance to get an historic en plein at the end of the season is getting more and more concrete.

The circuit of Mugello, property of Ferrari, is located in Tuscany north of Florence near the town of Scarperia. It is 5.245 meters long and comprises 15 turns.

From 1914 to 1967 an ancient street track was in place for motor racing. The present circuit was built in 1872 on initiative of the Automobile Club Florence and was opened in 1974. In 1988 it was bought by Ferrari that started a deep renovation by introducing the better structures that we can see nowadays and that are currently improved.

Ivan Bellarosa:
"After a long run-up, I am finally on top of both classifications thanks also to the work of the team on the development of the Wolf GB08 and the round at Mugello could be the turning point of the championship. In 2009 the Tuscany track was mean with satisfactions for me and a technical problem forced me to the retirement: this is why I will be twice as motivated to cancel the unlucky performance of last year with an important result".
